3 more Communist Terrorists, backfiring in Sultan Kudarat

CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, DOS, Maguindanao del Norte - Three members of the communist terrorist group (New People's Army) surrendered to the government a while ago to confront themselves at the 37th Infantry (Conqueror) Battalion in Brgy. Tibpuan, Lebak, Sultan Kudarat, yesterday morning (June 3, 2024).

According to Lt. Col. Christopherson M. Capuyan, the leader of 37IB, the surrendered former communist terrorists are included by a squad leader of the Dabu-Dabu Platoon of Region Sentro De Grabedad (RSDG) from the weakening Far South Mindanao Region (FSMR) of the terrorist group. In addition, two other members of Platoon Baghdad and Platoon Beijing also surrendered to such a group.

The three also surrendered their respective weapons, including an M60 machine gun and two garand rifles.

Brigadier General Michael A said. Santos, the Brigade Commander of the 603rd Infantry (Persuader) Brigade, who decided to turn the three in to the government to clear their name for being a victim of the communist terrorist group. “They are also afraid of their safety because they are already afraid of the unrelenting decisive military operations launched by the army, and law enforcement and intelligence operations with our police from Police Regional Office 12, against their small number, besides fatigue, difficulty and hunger caused by constant hiding in the mountains," according to Brig. Gen. Santos.

Major General Alex S. commended it. Rillera, Commander of 6ID and Joint Task Force Central, the decision of the three to return to the government. According to the General, "We welcome the return of our three fellow Filipinos. They are among the many former members of the communist terrorist group who have awakened to the fact that the armed struggle is based on deception and violence. “Related to this, Maj. Gen. Rillera continues to appeal to the remaining members of the terrorist group to surrender to the government, abandon the pointless armed struggle, and live peacefully and safely with their families with a good and dignified livelihood.
