Philippine Army (PA) and Philippine Air Force (PAF) troops held joint communications and electronics exercise and air evacuation training on March 10, 2022, at Camp Capinpin, the headquarters of the 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division in Tanay, Rizal.
The said trainings, which are part of the first-ever PAF-PA Interoperability Exercise, aim to address gaps in joint operations and achieve seamless air-to-ground communications and operations between the two Armed Forces of the Philippines major services.
The interoperability exercise will test the new air communications system installed on PAF planes that will enable ground troops to securely and effectively communicate with pilots and aircrew. Meanwhile, the air evacuation training will capacitate both major services to increase the survivability of combat-wounded troops.
“This training will definitely improve our operations because we will be able to communicate with each other and more than that we will be able to understand our capabilities and limitations,” Commanding General, Philippine Army Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., said.
The joint exercises started on March 7 and will culminate on March 11, 2022. Around 1000 PA and PAF personnel are participating in face-to-face exercises and virtual subject matter expert exchanges.
