Philippine Army tests territorial defense capabilities in AFP Joint Exercise

FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City – The Philippine Army beefed up its capabilities as the nation’s last line of defense with the conclusion of the joint training exercise with the Philippine Air Force and Philippine Navy in the AFP Joint Exercise (AJEX) “DAGIT-PA” closing ceremony on November 15, 2024 at the General Headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

The eighth iteration of AJEX DAGIT-PA simulates the military’s territorial defense plan, Oplan “Bantay Kalayaan." PA soldiers are trained together with airmen, sailors, and marines from various major services in Joint Military Operations, Counter-Landing Operations, and Special Forces Operations.

The annual military exercise focused on capability development training to enhance tactics, techniques, and procedures across various operations. This joint exercise aims to capacitate troops for the implementation of the Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Concept (CADC) and enhance the AFP's responsiveness towards territorial defense.
