One thousand eight hundred Philippine Army Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) cadets from various colleges and universities joined the Philippine ROTC Games 2024 in an opening ceremony at the Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite on July 28, 2024.
Anchored on the theme, "Husay ng ROTC, Husay ng Kabataan" the competition aims to highlight and develop the youth’s skills and talents in sports as well as to promote the ROTC. The whole competition will run from July 27 to August 3, 2024 wherein 118 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) will compete in different games such as basketball, volleyball, arnis, boxing, kickboxing, athletics, and e-games. Senator Francis N. Tolentino and Senator Robin C. Padilla graced the opening ceremony along with various government and private agency heads, college students, and Army soldier athletes.
Moreover, Senator Padilla underscored the importance of sportsmanship and unity to all the participating cadets. He also encouraged the students to continue honing their leadership skills, discipline, and flexibility which are all significant in serving the nation and the people through the ROTC.
