Army calls for a peaceful, orderly BARMM 2025 elections

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido called on all the Philippine Army troops of the 6th Infantry Division and all stakeholders to ensure a peaceful and orderly Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliament 2025 elections on May 12, 2025 in various municipalities of Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Cotabato City.

The BARMM elections is the first regular election for the Bangsamoro region and is also slated to be held simultaneously with the 2025 Philippine general election. All Army troops together with the Philippine National Police (PNP), will deploy assets and personnel to bolster the election contingency force around the country.

Lt. Gen. Galido reminded the Army troops of their significant responsibilities in the coming polls: to practice the right of suffrage and ensure the safe, orderly, and peaceful conduct of elections. Moreover, the Army chief also directed the troops to adhere to the military’s non-partisan stance and to refrain from posting and joining posts that are politically motivated and controversial.
