FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – Four Farm-to-market roads and a Barangay Health Center under the 2022 Local Government Support Fund – Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP) projects of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) were inaugurated on May 05, Friday at Barangays Suagayan, Conconig East and Buliclic all of Santa Lucia, Ilocos Sur.
Said projects under the LGSF-SBDP aim to usher development and deliver basic services to former conflict-affected barangays that lagged due to the terror caused by the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG).
Brgy. Buliclic, Sta. Lucia, Ilocos Sur headed by Brgy. Chairman Dominador G. Agustin was one of the 27 recipients of SBDP Project in the said municipality. The aforementioned leader expressed his gratitude to the leadership of NTF-ELCAC and its implementing agencies for the materialization of the projects.
Meanwhile, NTF-ELCAC Secretariat Director Monico Batle commended the Department of Interior and Local Government and the involved Local Government Units from the municipal to the regional level for the successful implementation of the projects in the province of Ilocos Sur.
Colonel Dean Mark F. Mamaril, Deputy Brigade Commander, 702nd Infantry (Defender) Brigade, Philippine Army, expressed his unit’s support to the LGU and the community and vowed to continue its commitment in pursuing the peace and development in its Area of Operations.
“Sana itong proyekto na ito mula sa national government ay masustain natin, kung may makita tayo na may sira, pwedeng sa municipal level ay maiparepair natin," Col. Mamaril said.
Relatedly, Major General Andrew D. Costelo PA, Commander of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, Philippine Army, congratulated the LGU for their new projects and reiterated his support to the peace and development initiatives of Sta. Lucia.
“Tayo po ay natutuwa sa mga bagong proyekto na ito na kung saan makikinabang ng lubos ang mamamayan ng Sta. Lucia. Nawa’y protektahan ninyo ito at alagaan. Katuwang ninyo ang inyong Army sa pagtataguyod ng kapayapaan at kaunlaran sa inyong lugar,” Maj. Gen. Costelo said.
