Army, government security forces destroy P340 million worth of marijuana in Kalinga

The Army’s 503rd Infantry Brigade (503Bde) of the 5th Infantry Division joined operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, National Bureau of Investigation, and the Philippine National Police in uprooting and burning almost P340 million worth of marijuana in various plantations in Tinglayan, Kalinga from February 25 to February 28, 2022.
Government forces also captured three marijuana cultivators in Barangay Butbut, Tinglayan identified as Peter Bagtang, 22 years old; Langao Bagtang, 70 years old; and a minor. They also confiscated one cal. 22, one cal. 9mm, one 12-gauge ARMSCOR shotgun, two magazines, and ammunition from the arrested cultivators.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., lauded 503Bde troops for their effective support to the government’s anti-criminality and anti-illegal drugs campaign.#
