The members of Charlie Company of 33rd Infantry Battalion led by Cpt Rogelio Agustin Jr and Special Reaction Platoon led by 1st Lt Glenn Neil Ambojnon accompanied the teams of policemen from the towns of Senator Ninoy Aquino and Bagumbayan and the SAF troopers in serving the warrant against a certain Dodong Baylon.
Agustin said that Baylon, the most wanted criminal of SNA town, was the primary target of the operation.
“Baylon is accused of murdering a lumad a few years ago. Our informants told us that he was coddled by a certain Commander Morix, a notorious leader of armed thugs,” said Agustin.
The suspects offered no resistance when policemen, backed by Army soldiers, stormed their hideout. The operating troops seized 12 firearms including one rocket-propelled grenade, M16A1 Assault Rifle, M14 Assault Rifle, Cal 30-06 M1903 Springfield, 12 gauge Shotgun, and a Cal .38 revolver.
Police Senior Inspector Ace Christian Sularte, the Chief of SNA police station said that Baylon eluded arrest.
“Baylon escaped from our dragnet but we are now receiving tip-offs about his current location. He will be collared very soon,” said Sularte.
Police Chief Inspector Gary Flor Marfil, the Chief of Bagumbayan police, said that Commander Morix Ending has been detained for inquest proceedings.
“He will be charged with illegal possession of firearms and for harbouring a criminal,” said Marfil.
Major General Dela Vega, commended the troops involved for the successful conduct of law enforcement support operation to thwart the group from conducting atrocities in the communities.
