sections/6SRC led by 2LT NOAY and 2LT ABDUL JABAR encountered MOL 50 Communist Terrorists (CTs) at the vicinity of Brgy Tubaon, Tarragona, DOR.
The troops are advancing to the enemy position in response to the reports that NPAs are harassing civilians and warning them not to tell their location. They continue to intimidate and threaten some of the residents.
Report also disclosed that NPAs celebrated CPP Anniversary in the area together with some residents and children who are just afraid not to abide with them.
As the troops draws nearer to the reported location of the terrorists, they (CTs) fired the troops and detonated the landmine. Immediately the soldiers maneuver to safe and advantage position then returned fire. The enemy withdrew to different directions after 30 minutes of firefight.
It resulted to 2 slightly wounded on the government side and on the enemy side is to be determined as bloodstains were seen in the encounter site. Pursuit operation is now on going. The wounded personnel were already evacuated to and treated.
Major General Noel S Clement Commander 10ID said, "the NPAs are grossly, again and again, violated the cease they have declared. It is aggrevating then that they bring along with them innocent civilians and the children."
"10ID is calling to the people not to be deceived by these terrorist group. Our units are in pursuit now in order to prevent enemy planned activities and further atrocities," MGen Clement added.
