Army installs new Chief of Staff

The Philippine Army has installed a new Chief of Staff in a Change of Chief of Office Ceremony held here today, Thursday, January 4, 2017. Brigadier General Danilo Chad D. Isleta replaced Major General Gilbert I. Gapay as the Army Chief of Staff.
Gapay has been assigned as the new Commander of the Mechanized Infantry Division.
The ceremony was led by the Army Chief Lieutenant General Rolando Joselito D. Baustista. HPA-based officers were also present during the event.
Isleta is a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Sandiwa” Class of 1985. He has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. Prior to his post, he was the Deputy Commander and Acting Commanding General of the 9th Infantry Division in 2017, and Chief of the Office of the Gender and Development, 9ID in 2016. He also served as the Battalion Commander of the 10th Field Artillery Battalion, Army Artillery Regiment in 2006.
