The Philippine Army conferred a Meritorious Achievement Medal to all soldier athletes who won various international sports competitions at Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on January 13, 2023.
The Army athletes earned gold and silver medals during the Singapore Beach Wrestling Festival, Benin International Open Badminton Tournament, Australia Beach Volleyball Tour Championships, Altitude Obstacle Course Race (OCR) World Championships, 5th Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon, Philippines Masters International Athletics Championships, and Boxing tournaments.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr. conveyed his gratitude to the soldier athletes, “The journey of our Army athletes is already an exceptional story in itself. It is a story of determination, hard work, dedication, and passion that began the moment they started in their individual sport and was further heightened when they took the oath to serve the people and secure the land as members of the Philippine Army”.
