Army Artillery Regiment commences 2023 Individual and Unit Certification Program

The Army Artillery Regiment (AAR) kicked off its 2023 Individual and Unit Certification Program which aims to assess the proficiency of field artillery personnel in carrying out their mandate of providing timely and accurate fires in support of maneuver units, the AAR announced on February 10, 2023.

AAR’s Field Artillery Battalion Certification Committees (BCCs) have started evaluating the proficiency of field artillery personnel in executing their respective roles as well as their collective performance as a firing section or firing platoon. The BCCs are expected to complete the certification of all firing sections and firing platoons before the end of June 2023.

The Regiment Certification Committee (RCC), led by AAR Commander Brig. Gen. Francis Anthony M. Coronel, will then certify firing batteries deployed across the nation. The regiment aims to certify the artillery operations proficiency of its personnel and firing units before year-end.

The certification program is in line with the thrust of Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., to enhance the individual skills of soldiers and unit competencies with the end goal of bolstering mission accomplishment.
