The Army Artillery Regiment activated its Maintenance and Service Battalion (MSBn) in an activation ceremony at the Lapu-Lapu Hall, Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group (HHSG), Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on February 9, 2023.
The Philippine Army’s Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics, G4, Col. Prudencia A. Iddoba served as the ceremony’s guest and honor speaker.
Col. Iddoba, in his keynote speech, mentioned the significant roles of activating the MSBn in supporting the increasing demands of the regiment’s operational requirements. The newly activated provisional battalion is tasked to maintain the serviceability of artillery assets.
Moreover, the unit, which will be led by its inaugural commander Lt. Col. Cerilo B. Bernaldez, will maintain artillery pieces to fully operational status to ensure the mission responsiveness of field artillery units.
