The Army Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Potenciano C. Camba visited the 51st Engineer Brigade (51EBde) to inspect and check its humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) equipment and personnel at Camp Atienza, Libis, Quezon City on February 13, 2023.
The Army chief visited the unit to assess the capability of the personnel as first responders ready to help on the ground. Maj. Gen. Camba also inspected the HADR equipment for a possible deployment of another urban search and rescue (USAR) team as part of the Philippine contingent to Turkey.
“It’s a commitment to the national government to show our support to the international community. We are not yet certified by the international body for search and rescue but we have the heart, capability, and willingness to help. 51st Engineer Brigade, we are with you in upgrading your capability as a disaster response unit. Mabuhay ang 51st Engineer Brigade, mabuhay ang 525th Engineer Combat Battalion, Mabuhay tayong lahat!” ended Maj. Gen. Camba.
