CGPA highlights Philippine Army accomplishments, thrusts in media meeting

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., highlighted the Philippine Army’s accomplishments and thrusts in a command-hosted meeting with local and foreign media that kicked off the 126th PA founding anniversary celebration at Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on February 15, 2023.

The CGPA’s meeting with the press is the first in a series of events that are lined up for PA’s 126th founding anniversary celebration anchored on the theme “Army@126: Strong, United and Reliable." The planned activities will showcase the Army’s non-traditional roles in nation-building, particularly in Emergency Response, Local Peace Engagement, Environmental Protection and Preservation, Socio-Economic Development, Reserve Force Development, and Food Security.

Lt. Gen. Brawner thanked the media for being a partner in nation-building. “As the Philippine Army’s reliable partners, you truly serve as indispensable channels of credible and trustworthy sources of information. From conveying our servant-soldiers’ dauntless stories of valor on the battlefield to demonstrating heroism in action in the face of disaster-response operations, I extend my sincere gratitude to you for enabling us to articulate the Philippine Army’s story to the Filipino people,” the Army Chief said.

"From defending our country to saving lives amid calamities, Army soldiers have been dutifully serving the Filipino people beyond the battlefield," Army Spokesman Col. Xerxes A. Trinidad meanwhile said in his info briefing. "And as a new chapter unfolds in the history of our esteemed organization, the 110,000-strong Philippine Army remains steadfastly committed to serving as a strong, united, and reliable ground force for the Filipino nation," the Army spokesman remarked.
