4ID launches HADR efforts in Caraga region

Various line units of the 4th Infantry Division (4ID) hand-in-hand with local government responders conducted Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) operations in communities affected by widespread flooding and landslides caused by a low-pressure area in the Caraga region on February 18, 2023.
 
Troops of the 30th Infantry Battalion provided manpower, transportation, and security assistance to residents who were stranded by rising floodwaters in Barangay Pongtud, Alegria, Surigao del Norte. Meanwhile, the 29th Infantry Battalion’s Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) conducted road-clearing efforts on the Santiago Highway in Agusan del Norte and evacuated flood-affected residents in Barangay Tagmamarkay, Tubay, Agusan del Norte. Furthermore, the QRT of the 65th Infantry Battalion evacuated flood-stricken families to Barangay Sanghan Gym.
 
Troops also safely evacuated 56 families to the Sibagat Gymnasium, Agusan del Sur and cleared landslide-hit roads in Barangay Mahayahay, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur and Barangay De Oro, Butuan City. Moreover, 23rd Infantry Battalion under the 402nd Brigade rescued and evacuated flood-affected residents in Barangays Buhangin and Mahay in Butuan City. Moreover, troops of the 75th Infantry Battalion saved flood-affected families in Barangay San Miguel, Surigao del Sur.
