The 21-member Philippine Army Urban Search and Rescue Team, which is part of the Philippine Interagency Humanitarian Contingent to Turkiye, arrived home safely on the evening of February 28, 2023 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
The USAR team conducted urban search and rescue in Adiyaman City, Turkiye for more than two weeks. The USAR team wrapped up its activities on February 24, 2023 and prepared for demobilization on February 25, 2023.
During their deployment, the team assessed 36 buildings and retrieved six cadavers for the whole duration of their search and retrieval operations. In addition, the emergency medical assistance team catered to 1,022 ambulatory cases and referrals of cases requiring hospitalization.
