Army showcases thrusts and accomplishments to lawmakers

The Philippine Army showcased its contributions to nation-building and current thrusts to lawmakers through an information caravan and exhibit at the Batasang Pambansa Complex, House of Representatives, Batasan Hills, Quezon City on March 8, 2023.

The information caravan and exhibit, which featured booths from Philippine Army specialty enablers such as the First Scout Ranger Regiment, Special Forces Regiment (Airborne), and Light Reaction Regiment; and Philippine Army Major Units (PAMUs) such as the Civil-Military Operations Regiment, is also geared at encouraging lawmakers to support the Army’s modernization programs and other pieces of legislation that bear a potential impact on the organization.

The activity, which also featured a booth dedicated to reservists and the Reserve Officer Training Corps, aimed to encourage lawmakers as well as their legislative staff to join the Army’s reserve force. The 525th Engineer Combat Battalion, 51st Engineer Brigade, the Army’s premier disaster response unit, also showcased its capabilities and disaster response equipment used to save lives amid calamities and man-made disasters. Other PAMUs and Headquarters Philippine Army (HPA) offices that showcased their key thrusts and capabilities in the exhibit include the Army Support Command, Army Signal Regiment, K-9 unit of the Army Intelligence Regiment, Aviation Regiment, and the Office of the Army Chief Nurse.

The said activity is part of the series of events held in celebration of the Philippine Army’s 126th Founding Anniversary with the theme "Army@126: Strong, United, and Reliable."
