The Commanding General Philippine Army Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. led the donning of ranks to the 14 newly promoted generals in a ceremony on April 12, 2023 at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.
Army Vice Commander Brig. Gen. Steve D. Crespillo, Army Inspector General Brig. Gen. Rommel K. Tello, 3rd Infantry Division Commander Brig. Gen. Marion R. Sison, Army Support Command Brig. Gen. Rogelio D. Ulanday, and Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Brig. Gen. Luis Rex D. Bergante were promoted to the rank of Major General while nine Army Colonels were promoted to Brigadier General.
Among the promotees were Civil-Military Operations Regiment Commander Col. Benjamin L. Hao, 301st Infantry Brigade Commander Col. Michael G. Samson, Army Signal Regiment Commander Col. Alejandro J. Papa, 303rd Infantry Brigade Commander Col. Orlando D. Edralin, 403rd Infantry Brigade Commander Col. Michele B. Anayron, 1002nd Infantry Brigade Commander Col. Patricio Ruben P. Amata, 602nd Infantry Brigade Commander Col. Donald M. Gumiran, 51st Engineer Brigade Commander Col. Antonio C. Rota, and 55th Engineer Brigade Commander Col. Ulpiano T. Olarte.
Lt. Gen. Brawner congratulated the newly promoted generals and reminded them of the responsibility that goes with their new ranks.
"I would like to call our promotees to continue upholding the standards of military leadership in accomplishing your respective tasks. Remember that your respective roles are indispensable in accomplishing the command thrusts encapsulated in the acronym SERVE. Let’s continue working hard and keep doing our best," said Lt. Gen. Brawner.
