PA, USARPAC commanding generals hold a wreath-laying ceremony in Corregidor Island

The Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. together with the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) Commanding General, Gen. Charles A. Flynn rendered a wreath-laying ceremony to honor the bravery, courage, and loyalty of Filipino and US soldiers at the Pacific War Memorial, Corregidor Island on April 15, 2023.
 
After the solemn ceremony, the two generals together with other delegates, explored the Pacific War Museum, Battery Monja, Battery Crockett, and the Malinta Tunnel, which served as a supply depot, hospital, and MacArthur’s Headquarters in 1942.
 
Corregidor Island is located at the entrance of Manila Bay, south of Bataan, Luzon. It is a historical and symbolic site of the friendship and camaraderie of Filipino and American Soldiers.
 
The cultural tour and tribute in Corregidor were one of the highlights of Gen. Flynn’s visit to the Philippines during the 38th iteration of Balikatan. Prior to this event, Gen. Flynn also visited the Northern Luzon Command at Camp Servillano Aquino, Tarlac City and gave a keynote address during his call at the National Defense College of the Philippines and the Philippine Military Academy.
