The Commanding General Philippine Army Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. led the donning of ranks to the two newly promoted brigadier generals in a ceremony on April 25, 2023 at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.
Among the promotees were the 502nd Infantry Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Eugene M. Mata and 201st Infantry Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Erwin A. Alea. Moreover, Lt. Gen. Brawner congratulated the newly promoted generals on their hard work and dedication and reminded them that their promotion is accompanied by greater responsibilities.
"I hope that your star further motivates you to contribute to the achievement of our objectives. With this, I expect you to exert efforts in leading our troops to operational victories and in sustaining our operational tempo," said Lt. Gen. Brawner.
