FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - The Special Forces Regiment (Airborne) held a joint closing and opening ceremony of various airborne operations courses at the regiment's headquarters in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija on April 25, 2023.
A total of 186 students completed the Basic Airborne Course (Class 136-23), 45 students hurdled the Parachute Packing Course (Class 55-23), and 39 students finished the Jump Master Course (Class 88-23). Meanwhile, 114 students commenced the Basic Airborne Course (Class 137-23), 22 students started the Parachute Packing Course (Class 56-23), and 18 students commenced the Jump Master Course (Class 89-23).
Col. Jaime S. Datuin, the Philippine Army’s Assistant Chief of Staff for Reservist and Retiree Affairs, G9, served as the event’s guest of honor and speaker. Col. Datuin, in his remarks, emphasized that anyone can bring out their full potential by embodying the values of persistence, determination, discipline, and commitment to reach their goals. Moreover, he encouraged the students of the three newly opened specialization courses to complete their training as it will provide them with the essential skills to accomplish the mission of their respective units.
SFR(A)'s various airborne operations courses reinforce Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr.'s thrust to bolster soldiers' skills and unit capabilities through the conduct of regular training exercises.
