Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. lauded the men and women of the 1st Infantry “Tabak” Division during the division’s 87th Founding Anniversary Celebration in Kuta Major Cesar L. Sang-an, Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur on May 5, 2023.
Lt. Gen. Brawner, in his keynote remarks, commended Tabak troopers for their sustained operational gains against the Communist Terrorist Group and the Local Terrorist Group in the division’s area of operations. “Over the years, the servant-soldiers of the 1st Infantry Division remain true to their moniker “Tabak” as the unit continues its determination to fight for peace and commitment the sovereignty of our country,” the Army Chief remarked.
“Your anniversary theme, "Tabak@87: Marching Towards a Stronger, United, and Dependable Army” bespeaks of your incomparable determination to prevail over our nation’s battles and earn peace for the people of Southern Mindanao,” Lt. Gen. Brawner added.
