The 1st 155mm Self-Propelled (SP) Battery, 10th Field Artillery "Rolling Thunder" Battalion, Army Artillery Regiment hurdled the 1st Regiment Certification conducted at Barangay Talisawa, Datu Abdullah Sangki, Maguindanao on May 9, 2023.
From twilight until dusk, the battery personnel and crew proved their proficiency in operating the Autonomous Truck Mounted Howitzer System (ATMOS) 155mm self-propelled gun, the biggest in the Army’s current arsenal.
The training certification program is geared at ensuring that field artillery personnel are proficient in providing accurate and timely artillery fires in support of combat operations. Likewise, it assesses field artillery personnel's training and depth of learning concerning their designated functions that are vital in ensuring highly-competent firing units.
The said certification program also reinforces the thrust of Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. to enhance the individual skills of soldiers and unit competencies with the end goal of bolstering mission accomplishment.
