Chief of Staff, U.S. Army visits HPA

The Chief of Staff of the United States (U.S.) Army Gen. James C. McConville rendered a courtesy call on the Commanding General Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. to further bolster Army-to-Army ties at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on May 10, 2023.
 
The Saluting Battery of the Army Artillery Regiment accorded a 17-gun salute for Gen. McConville while the Security and Escort Battalion of the Installation Management Command accorded arrival honors for the visiting Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army.
 
Lt. Gen. Brawner, Gen. McConville and their respective staff officers held a bilateral meeting after the courtesy call wherein they affirmed their commitment to ensure and sustain a free and open Indo-Pacific Region.
 
The two Army leaders also emphasized the need to bolster PA-U.S. Army interoperability which was reinforced by the successful conduct of the 8th iteration of Exercise Salaknib and the 38th iteration of Exercise Balikatan this year.
