PBBM graces the graduation rite of OCC GAIGMAT Class 58-2023

The President of the Philippines and Commander-in-Chief Armed Forces of the Philippines Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. graced the graduation ceremony of the Officers Candidate Course "GAIGMAT" Class 58-2023 as the Guest of Honor and Speaker at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on July 7, 2023.
 
President Marcos Jr. imparted his wisdom to the 106 graduating officer candidates on what it means to be a true leader. “Lead by example, command with respect, and execute with excellence as you confront the challenges ahead. Let patriotism permeate every fiber of your being, empowering you to navigate the complexities of the field with heightened awareness and true mastery of your craft. Be assured that the government’s dedication to your advancement and welfare goes beyond providing modern equipment alone. We continue to prioritize retooling and retraining to arm you with intellectual fortitude, tactical prowess, and strategic acumen to thrive on the modern battlefield,” he remarked.
 
The ceremony was attended by key officials - Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Atty. Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr., Chief of Staff Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP) Gen. Andres C. Centino, Commanding General Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr., and Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Commander Maj. Gen. Luis Rex D. Bergante.
 
President Marcos Jr. is the first-ever president in history who led the OCC graduation rite. The OCC training is conducted bi-annually for all aspiring Army future leaders, it is one of the sources of officer commission in the Philippine Army that produces military officers with courageous character and well-disciplined combat leaders.
