The Philippine Army through the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations (OG7), attended the 4th iteration of the PA-Royal Thai Army (RTA) Civil Affairs Subject Matter Expert Exchange (CA SMEE) at RTA Headquarters, Bangkok, Thailand on July 3-7, 2023.
As hosted by the RTA this year, the event aims to provide a venue for both Armies to continuously learn from the emerging best practices on CMO regarding external defense operations, counter-terrorism, and humanitarian assistance disaster response (HADR) operations. The PA attendees shared their insights and best practices in civil affairs while the RTA presented the capabilities of their engineer and medical departments which are their primary units in conducting civil affairs missions.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. commended the active participation and continuous collaboration of the OG7 with the RTA, which fosters innovation and enhances the knowledge of PA military officials in the CMO field that contributes to civil affairs activities.
