Philippine Army Cycling Team donate wheelchairs to disabled soldiers at AFPMC

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army Cycling Team donated 10 new wheelchairs to the disabled soldiers confined at the Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Center on Friday, April 6, 2018.

Brigadier General Roy T. Devesa, Commander, Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group, Philippine Army together with Colonel Antonio John B. Divinagracia, Director, Special Service Center, led the turnover of the brand new wheelchairs. The members of the Philippine Army Cycling Team personally handed over the wheelchairs to each beneficiary who were wounded in action and whose injuries resulted to disabilities.
The Philippine Army Cycling Team recently won 2nd Overall Award in the 8th LBC Ronda Pilipinas 2018 held last March 13 to 18. The competition covered a distance of 1,416 kilometers which started from Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, toward Filinvest Alabang, Muntinlupa City. The team, as a gesture of support and sympathy to their comrade in arms decided to allocate portion of their cash prize to procure brand new wheelchairs.
“May this equipment help you as you continue your life journey. Your heroism in the battlefield serves as our inspiration to win our races,” said Private First Class Chris L. Joven, the Team Leader of the Philippine Army Cycling Team.#
