FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City - Army Chief Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido highlighted the importance of dedication in service and nation during his talk at the headquarters of the 1st Mechanized "Maaasahan" Brigade (1Mech Bde) of the Armor Division in Tacurong, Sultan Kudarat on October 26, 2024.
During his talk, the Army Chief acknowledged the vital role played by the 1Mech Bde in safeguarding national security and maintaining peace and order in the region. He lauded the Maaasahan troops for their unwavering commitment to duty, professionalism and exemplary performance in various operations.
The Army Chief highlighted the brigade's recent success in dismantling the Guerilla Front Musa that led to the awarding of CGPA Bayanihan Streamer Award. The concerted efforts of the brigade and its operational control units was recognized by the CGPA as “a shining example of the best that the Philippine Army has to offer." Moreover, Lt. Gen. Galido shared his vision for the Philippine Army, focusing on the importance of modernization, professional development and constant pursuit of excellence.
The 66th Army Commanding General called on troops to focus on enhancing their leadership, integrity, teamwork and resilience in face of current and emerging security challenges. He also urged them to always remember that they are not only soldiers but also "ambassadors of the Philippine Army", emphasizing that their actions reflect on the entire organization.
