Philippine-Australian Army troops hold Jungle Survival, Combat Tracking Drills

Exercise "Kasangga" 24-2 participants from the Philippine and Australian Armies trained together on jungle survival and combat tracking on the slopes of Mount Isarog, Camarines Sur from November 4 to 5, 2024.

Platoons composed of 47 Filipino soldiers and 50 Australian Army personnel trekked eight kilometers from Brgy. Tinangis in Pili to Brgy. Panicuason in Naga City, practicing jungle survival, tracking techniques, and patrol base operations.

Filipino troops and their Aussie counterparts sourced water, identified edible plants and animals, and set traps which they checked the following day. The Australian Army participants expressed appreciation for the skills learned and gained a deeper respect for the challenges Filipino soldiers face in the field. Exercise Kasangga is set to wrap up on November 8, 2024.
