Army Vice Chief joins Brigada Eskwela opening in Malabon

brigadaFORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – Philippine Army Vice Commander Major General Robert M. Arevalo joined the Malabon National High School’s (MNHS) opening of Brigada Eskwela today May 29, 2018 in Hulong Duhat, Malabon.
Maj. Gen. Arevalo stood in behalf of the Army Commanding General Lieutenant General Rolando Joselito D. Bautista who was invited as the Special Guest in the activity attended by about 736 volunteers composed of MNHS faculty and staff, representatives from the local government, PNP and other uniformed services.
DepEd’s Brigada Eskwela this year has the theme “Para sa Handa, Ligtas at Matatag na Paaralan Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan.” Annually, parents, teachers, community members and other volunteers come together to prepare DepEd’s school facilities nationwide before the opening of the academic year. Participants normally do minor repairs, painting, and cleaning of school premises.
The Philippine Army Headquarters sent a total of 350 participants and support personnel to help in 36 schools in Mandaluyong, Pateros, Pasay, and Taguig. It is a week-long activity that begun in May 28 and will end on May 1.
