6FAB Facilitated the Enhancement and Inauguration of the Paningusan Child Development Center

 

Awang, DOS, Maguindanao – The Paningusan Child Development Center (PCDC) for the Indigenous Peoples (Teduray Tribe) was finally inaugurated on June 30, 2017 at Sitio Paningusan, Km 13, Barangay Labuangan, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao

 The PCDC enhancement was facilitated by the 6th Field Artillery (Deadly Accurate) Battalion (6FAB) from identifying and coordinating with partners, and for the workforce in the construction of the facility.

Thirty eight IP pre-school students benefitted the said Child Development Center and its inauguration which was hosted by the 6th Field Artillery (Deadly Accurate) Battalion (6FAB) was also attended by the sponsoring organizations: The LGU of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao headed by Mayor Datu Ombra Q. Sinsuat, represented by his Admin Officer, Israel U. Sinsuat. They sponsored the construction materials and committed for the salary of the pre-school teacher, Ms Rebecaa Liduna; The Notre Dame University Graduate School with the Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. Theresa O. Corcoro. They sponsored the teacher’s school materials and co-sponsored the Jollibee food snacks of the IP pre-school students; The National Alliance of Youth Leaders headed by Christine Bernadette Almoite, represented by Felisha Nicole Tumog. They sponsored the school supplies; and the Junior Chamber International – Duwaling represented by Kristal Jane Buhian, the 2017 Vice President for Individualism. They sponsored the school bags under the Bags-To-School Program of JCI Philippines, the big Story Books under the Reading Nation Program of Bookbed.org and JCI Duwaling and some hygiene kits.

LTCOL Francis Anthony M Coronel said, “There is no greater demonstration of serving the people than being sympathetic, compassionate and kindhearted most especially to the Indigenous Peoples and their children. Each 6FAB Trooper is trained to adapt to the operational environment and the cultural sensitivities to ensure peace and harmony.

It was in May 2017 during the Observance and Participation to International Day for Cultural Diversity and Dialogue and the 2017 Brigada Eskwela of the Department of Education when the initial affirmation of support from the aforementioned organizations came in and the signing of Partnership Agreement took place on June 5, 2017 at the Sanggunian Hall of Datu Odin Sinsuat Municipality.
