Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army activates the newly-organized Installation Management Command and appoints the new chief of the Office of the Accounting Service Philippine Army (OASPA) here yesterday, Sept. 23.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Macairog S. Alberto presided the joint ceremony of the assumption of Maj. Gen. Tyne T. Bañas as IMCOM Commander and Mrs. Aylene P. Garcia as the new Army Chief Accountant.

“I trust that you will take this as an opportunity to perform with excellence and professionalism,” said Alberto after the unfurling of IMCOM’s unit color and ASPA chief’s oath-taking.

IMCOM will be primarily responsible in the organization and management of the Army’s real estate assets by systematizing the establishment, maintenance, and management of the installations, assets, and properties of the command using a similar system employed by the Philippine Navy and Air Force.

On the other hand, OASPA plays a critical role in the accounting and auditing of the Army through its various services offered including processing of claims, granting and liquidation of cash advance, and issuance of certification of availability of funds, among others.

“I expect you to do your best as individuals and as a team to achieve the targets and live up to performance expectations. I encourage all of you to work efficiently and committedly, for you are contributing towards our transformation into a world-class Army that is a source of national pride,” said Alberto.#
