Army takes part in 8th Heroes Run

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - Personnel of the Philippine Army led by its Vice Commander, Major General Reynaldo Aquino participated in the 8th Heroes Run yesterday, November 24, in connection with the upcoming Bonifacio Day celebration.

The organizers of the event, the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association intended to donate the proceeds to the beneficiaries of fallen comrades and wounded-in-action personnel during the recent bombing in Sulu. The event, which is composed of the 3K, 5K, 10K, and the 21K runs, was also simultaneously conducted along with twelve other marathon legs nationwide.

The AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Noel Clement and other senior officers from the General Headquarters also participated in the event. Several celebrities also joined in to show their support such as Matteo Guidicelli, Kim Atienza, Dingdong Dantes, Ronnie Liang and many others.

"Through your participation, we have already helped the dependents of our fallen comrades to pursue their dreams and fulfill their aspirations as they take after the footsteps of their beloved family members in the hope of changing the world in their own special way," said Maj. Gen. Aquino in his remarks.#
