GOVERNMENT FORCES RECOVERED HPFA AND EXPLOSIVES IN KALINGA

 

According to LTC Gulliver N Señires, Commanding Officer of 50IB, his troops reacted on a tip given by a civilian on the presence of an armed group at Sitio Anyang, Brgy Wagud, Pinukpuk, Kalinga. The CT-NPA detected and shot the approaching soldiers that resulted to a brief firefight that lasted for about 10 minutes, afterwhich the CT-NPA scampered into different directions.

After scouring the area, the troops recovered one (1) Cal. 30 US Carbine with two magazines, and four Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). No casualty was reported on the government side, while the number of casualty on the enemy side is still to be determined based on the bloodstains found in their route of withdrawal.

MGen Paul T Atal, D.P.A. AFP, Commander, 5ID commended once again the troops of 50IB for their accomplishments. “I commend you, the 50IB Troopers for another accomplishment, which bespeak of your dedication to your mandated mission. The recovery of the IEDs has saved the lives of the ordinary people and their properties from harm.” MGen Atal said. “I encourage the remaining CT-NPAs to lay down their arms and avail of the Comprehensive Local Integration Program (CLIP) of the government. Let us solve our differences in a peaceful way; after all, we are all Filipinos.” MGen Atal added.
