CGPA visits Spearhead Division, dons ranks to newly promoted officers

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army Commanding General visits troops of the 3rd Infantry “Spearhead” Division at its headquarters in Camp Gen. Macario B. Peralta Jr, Jamindan, Capiz on February 26, 2020.

Through an arrival honors, Lt. Gen. Gilbert I. Gapay, Commanding General Philippine Army (CGPA), was welcomed by the Division Commander Maj. Gen. Eric Vinoya and Spearhead Troopers. He was later given an Information Briefing on the current thrust of the division and its future endeavors by the division’s Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, G3 Lt. Col. Jason V. Jumawan.

Gapay also led the donning of colonel rank to the newly promoted officers namely Jose Eduardo F. Liboon, Richard D. Sibayan, Eufracio G. Malig Jr, Emilito Thaddeus M. Logan, Jessie M. Trinidad, and Partricio S. Tomales.

Gapay, in his talk to troops, reminded the 3ID of the Army thrusts. He stressed that the troops should achieve operational and organizational excellence, pursue modernization program, continue working closely with partners and stakeholders and prioritize uplifting the well-being of the Army personnel.

“CGPA will always be a source of inspiration and courage for Spearhead Troopers
who are determined to perform their mandate of serving and protecting the people
and the state. With his remarkable commitment to end communist insurgency, the
3ID is also full force in supporting his leadership and the Philippine Army’s journey
towards the attainment of this aspiration,” said Vinoya.

After his talk to men, the CGPA graced the inauguration and blessings of the newly-renovated building of the division including the barracks and the Headquarters and Headquarters Support Battalion, and the 6th Field Property and Accountability Office building.

“Let us sustain the momentum of our successes and continue capacitating the Army towards greater mission effectiveness,” said Gapay.#
