CGPA dons ranks to newly promoted senior officers

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Gilbert I. Gapay donned ranks to the newly promoted Army Major Generals and Colonels here today, February 28.

“Your new ranks represent service, excellence, and untiring commitment which you have rendered in your respective assignments. I am confident that you will continue to give the same level of exemplary service as the Philippine Army entrusts you with higher responsibilities,” noted Gapay during the ceremony.

The CGPA donned the star ranks to Maj. Gen. Generoso M. Ponio (Commander, 1st Infantry “Tabak” Division) and Maj. Gen. Rowen S. Tolentino (Chief of Staff, Philippine Army) while 26 other senior officers from various PA units and offices received their Colonel ranks.

Gapay also called on the high ranking officers to continuously contribute in the fulfillment of the Army’s major thrusts that includes: achieving organizational and operational excellence, pursuing the PA’s modernization program, strengthening partnership with stakeholders, and uplifting the well-being of all members of team Army.

“As you embark on a new chapter in your leadership journey, you will be facing more responsibilities, challenges, and opportunities. Remember that your role in your respective units and offices is critical and integral to the fulfillment of the strategic objective of our organization,” added the CGPA.#
