Army receives Thai food pack donations

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - The Philippine Army received 10, 000 food pack donations from the Royal Thai Embassy in partnership with a Thai food company here today, March 6, 2020.

In the ceremonial turn-over activity led by the Army Chief of Staff, Maj. Gen. Rowen S. Tolentino, food packs produced by the Chareon Pokphand Foods (CPF) Public Company Limited were handed by the Ambassador of Thailand, Mr. Vasin Ruangprateepsaeng, to the Army intended for its civil-military efforts during their Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) operations.

As the first responders during the recent Taal volcano eruption, the Army gives great importance and recognition to the help extended by private entities who partnered with the Army in delivering relief goods to the affected communities. In the same note, the donation given by the Thai delegation will be of great advantage to the Army in carrying out its HADR operations.

“As ASEAN partners, we are truly grateful for your contribution, for these will greatly benefit thousands of our countrymen who have experienced the aftermath of such calamities,” Tolentino said in his speech. “As we work closely with our local and foreign partners, we reinforce the sense of community, where everyone is working for the greater good of our country and people,” he added.#
