Angono celebrates insurgency-free declaration

CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - The Angono municipal government celebrated its declaration as "insurgency-free" in a momentous ceremony held at the Angono Municipal Gymnasium on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.

Marking a significant milestone in the region's pursuit of stable internal peace and security, the Angono Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict spearheaded the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and the Declaration of Stable Internal Peace and Security. The event also included signing a Pledge of Commitment, reaffirming the community's dedication to peace and progress.

Among the distinguished guests in attendance were Angono Municipal Mayor Hon. Jeri Mae E. Calderon and Vice Mayor Hon. Gerardo V Calderon, 202nd Infantrt "Unifier" Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Cerilo C Balaoro Jr., 80th Infantry "Steadfast" Battalion Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Erwin Y. Commendador, and representatives from partner government agencies.

In a statement, Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong attributed the municipality's milestone to the security sector's unwavering dedication and collective efforts, together with the various TF-ELCACs, LGUs, and the community as a whole. He added that the declaration of Stable Internal Peace and Security for Angono underscores a significant move toward a future marked by peace and prosperity, affecting Tanay and resonating across the entire Rizal province.
