Residents’ tip leads to seizure of arms cache in Bulacan

CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - Information from concerned citizens has led to the recovery of an arms cache in San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan, Tuesday, June 18.

 

Acting on reports regarding the presence of armed personalities in the area, soldiers belonging to the Army's 202nd Infantry “Unifier” Brigade discovered the hidden arms at Barangay Paradise 3 of the city.

Among the items recovered by the troops were one M16 rifle, a shotgun, one hand grenade, a magazine, 36 rounds of live ammunition, three KMP-Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas flags and tarpaulins, a laptop, one personal ID, and several subversive documents.

 

In a statement, 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto Capulong commended the vigilance and cooperation of the residents, noting that the successful recovery of these items is a testament to the vital role that community involvement plays in maintaining peace and security.

 

He also highlighted the importance of ongoing intelligence operations and collaboration with local authorities to thwart potential threats posed by armed groups.

Maj. Gen. Capulong then urged the citizens to continue working with the military to ensure the safety of their community.
