Sergeant Major, Civil- Military Operations Regiment

SMS Cosme V Talosig 772074 (Inf) PA, the current Regiment Sergeat Major, Civil-Militry Operations Regiment, PA, was born in Allasitan, Pamplona, Cagayan on 06 December 1968. He is presently residing at H-651 Road 2 Gozar St., Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City. He is married to Alma Bella Rocamora Talosig of Tanauan City, Batangas, with whom he has two sons, Christopher Adrian and Christian Arvin and a daughter named Christina Alexis.
He finished his primary and secondary education at Bidduang Elementary School and Fort Bonifacio College Annex, now Taguig National High School, respectively. He decided to join the military service on 26 September 1988 as Candidate Soldier at AFP Training Command and was Enlisted into the Military Service on 17 January 1989.
While in the Military Service. SMS Talosig completed various local military courses and seminars among these are Sergeant Major Course, Infantry Advance Course, Civil Military Operations Course, Peace Keeping Operaions Course, Rescue and Relief Operations Course, General Vehicle Maintenance Course, Candidate Soldier Course, Stakeholder Engagement Training, CMO-PSYOPS Workshop, 12th PHILCET Pre-Deployment Training, Basic Auto Mechanic, Seminar on Security Orientation and in the areas, Personnel, Administration, Operations, Communications and Physical Security, Explosive Ordnance and Chemical Seminar, Traffic Management and Seminar on Food Production.
SMS Talosig served in various capacities while in the Service, He served as Sergeat Major, HHBn, CMOR, CMOBn, CMOG, TF Tabang at Marawi, TF Comet at Sulu, First Sergeant, TF Comet based at Sulu, CMOBn, CMOG, NADESCOM, AFP as Investigator, NCOIC, Motorpool, Mess Sergeant, SOUTHCOM, AFP as Liaison NCOIC, Driver, Security, Airport Assistant, NCRCOM, AFP as F/Sgt/ Opns Sgt, CDM Bn, Alpha Coy Based Masbate Province as Squad Ldr, Pltn Sgt and Coy Opns Sgt MPBn as Admin/Opns, NCO, G1, GHQ&HSC, AFP as Records, Supply, Pers & Stat., NCO, NCOIC on Scty RP/US Balikatan 2000, Placed DS at AFPSLAI Main Office as NCOIC Scty & Inves Br, During the 1989 failed coup attempt was also one the defender then assigned at Scty & Escort Group, GHQ&HSC, AFP. He also served the United Nations Transition Administration (UNTAET) in East Timor as Security NCOIC at Main Gate of HPKF and Residence of the PKF Commander.
SMS Talosig was designated as Regiment Sergeant Major on 28 February 2019 and was promoted to his present rank effective 23 October 2019. He is recipient of Six (6) MMM, Ten (10) MCM, UN Service Medal &Ribbon, Luzon and Mindanao Anti-Dissidence Campaign Medal &Ribbon, Two (2) Pres’l Unit Citation Badge, AGS Badge, CBT “K” Badge, Three (3) Markmanship Badge (Rifle/Pistol), Long Svc Medal, AFP Conduct Medal, Three (3) Certificate of Appreciation, Plaque of Appreciation and Several Military Commendation Letters.
