Army Chief stresses importance of training during Marksmanship Training Facility visit

FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City – Army Chief Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido emphasized the importance of constant training in building a world-class Army during his visit to the Philippine Army Marksmanship Training Facility (PAMTF) at the Marksmanship Training Center, Training Command (TRACOM), Camp O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac on October 12, 2024.

“We are investing so much in training. It is only through training that we develop our individual and unit skills,” the Army Chief told the TRACOM students, officer candidates, and candidate soldiers who stood in formation at the PAMTF Grandstand that will be used as the venue for the 32nd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Armies Rifles Meet (AARM).

The 32nd AARM is part of the Philippine Army’s hosting of the 2024 ASEAN Armies Annual Meet (AAAM) with the theme: “Strengthening Partnership and Camaraderie towards Regional Stability.” Ten ASEAN countries are set to participate in the annual shooting competition which includes Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, and Thailand. AARM features five shooting events: Rifle, Carbine, Machine Gun, Pistol (Men), and Pistol (Ladies).

PA’s AAAM hosting also includes the 25th ASEAN Chief of Armies Multilateral Meeting (ACAMM) and the 12th ASEAN Sergeant Major Annual Meeting (ASMAM). The annual event is geared at strengthening solidarity and camaraderie among the ASEAN armies.
