Army breaks ground for One Factory Training Concept (OFTC) flagship facilities

FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City – Army Chief Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido led the groundbreaking ceremony for a grandstand, new barracks, and other key training facilities for candidate soldiers at the School for Candidate Soldier, Training Command (TRACOM), Camp O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac on October 12, 2024.

“In eight months or earlier, we will see these facilities completed. As such, we will now have better facilities to train our soldiers and have a better output,” Lt. Gen. Galido said in his keynote remarks before the TRACOM leadership and the candidate soldiers.

The Army Chief also reiterated his commitment to building world-class training facilities that will be crucial in training soldiers, the organization’s most valuable resource. The Army leadership likewise vowed support for constructing top-notch facilities to accommodate thousands of candidate soldiers from all over the country in line with the OFTC program.

The Philippine Army leadership has set a quota of 4,029 candidate soldiers for 2024 broken down into five training cycles. The Centralized Recruitment Program for Candidate Soldiers has already produced 1,591 privates from CSC Classes 792-2024 and 793-2024. Meanwhile, 1,339 candidate soldiers who belong to CSC Classes 794-2024 and 795-2024 are still undergoing training at the School for Candidate Soldiers.
