2 Militias surrender, 18 CPP-NPA-NDF supporters withdraw support in Quezon
CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal – Two Milisyang Bayan members have surrendered while a total of 18 CPP-NPA-NDF supporters have withdrawn their support to the Communist Terrorist Group across the municipalities of Tagkawayan and Mulanay, Quezon from Monday to Tuesday, April 24-25, 2023
The Municipal Task Forces to End Local Communist Armed Conflict of Tagkawayan and Mulanay headed by Hon. Luis Oscar T. Eleazar and Hon Aristotle Aguirre, respectively, with assistance from 85th Infantry “Sandiwa” Battalion, Quezon PNP, Tagkawayan PNP and Mulanay PNP, facilitated the surrender of 2 Milisyang Bayan members from Barangay Malabahay of Macalelon and the withdrawal of support of eighteen CPP-NPA-NDF supporters in Barangays Casispalan and Kinatakutan in Tagakawayan and Cambuga in Mulanay.
“We are grateful for the increasing support of our communities to the government’s peace efforts to end insurgency in partnership with our LGUs and key stakeholders. With this, we urge the remaining rebels and their supporters to return to the government’s side to help bring peace and development in the region,” 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division Commander Maj. Gen Roberto S. Capulong said in a statement.
