2 Militias surrender, 28 CPP-NPA-NDF supporters break ties with communist group in Quezon

CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal – Two members of the Milisyang Bayan have surrendered to the government forces while 28 more supporters of the CPP-NPA-NDF withdrew their support from the municipalities of General Luna, Buenavista, San Francisco, Lopez, and Catanauan in Quezon from Monday to Friday, March 13 to 17, 2023.

The Municipal Task Forces to End Local Communist Armed Conflict of General Luna, Buenavista, San Francisco, Lopez, and Catanauan, with assistance from the 85th Infantry Battalion, Quezon PNP, General Luna PNP, Catanauan PNP, and Buenavista PNP, Lopez PNP, and San Francisco PNP, facilitated the surrender of two Milisyang Bayan members from barangay Milagrosa and the withdrawal of support of CPP-NPA-NDF of 28 residents of barangays of San Ignacio Ilaya, San Ignacio Ibaba, Sumilang, and Lavides in General Luna, and 23 residents of San Vicente Kanluran, Milagrosa, and Doongan Ilaya in Catanauan. All 28 personalities have signed sworn statements renouncing their support to the CPP-NPA-NDF, condemning the communist terrorist group, and pledging their allegiance to the government.

Gen. Roberto S. Capulong said in a statement.
