CAMP CAPINPIN, Tanay, Rizal – The 2nd Infantry Division of the Philippine Army sent off 105 new Privates who are to be assigned to the different line units under the command during a simple ceremony at 9:00 yesterday morning at the division quadrangle.

Present during the ceremony were the senior officers of the command with the general, special, technical, and personal staff of the commander; along with the post-unit commanders of the division, headed by Major General Rowen S Tolentino, the commander of 2ID, who was also the keynote speaker during the occasion.

The 105 new Privates was composed of 75 males and 30 females, of which 37 are college graduates, 20 are college-level, 37 are K-12 graduates, three are vocational graduates, and eight are high school graduates with specialized skills. Amongst the new soldiers are six males and 4 females who were former CAFGUs who had previous service experiences on their belts.

During the ceremony Major General Tolentino expressed his felicitation to the new privates for having hurdled the rigors of their training, but more so reminded them of the reason why they dreamt and applied as soldiers of the Philippine Army, and said "The primary reason kaya tayo nandidito bilang sundalo ay dahil sa pagmamahal natin sa bayan at dahil sa gusto nating maglingkod at makatulong sa ating mga mamayan."
