2ID joins Quezon Province’s 1st SIPS declaration anniversary
 
CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - The Army's 2nd Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division (2ID) joined in the celebration of the first anniversary of Quezon Province's Stable Internal Peace and Security Declaration (SIPS) during the Quezon Provincial Peace Summit in Lucena City, Quezon, Wednesday, June 12.
 
The momentous event, which coincides with the 126th Philippine Independence Day, aimed to continue to pursue and maintain stable and long-lasting peace in the province.
 
It began with a flag-raising ceremony followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the Rizal Monument.
Spearheaded by Governor Angelina “Doktora Helen” Tan of Quezon, the Peace Summit was graced by Senator Francis Tolentino and was attended by several key members of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (POC), including Interior and Local Government IV-A regional director Ariel Iglesia, 2ID commander Maj. Gen. Roberto Capulong, 202nd Infantry “Unifier” Brigade commander Brig. Gen. Cerilo Balaoro Jr., Southern Luzon Area Police Command commander Police Lt. Gen. Rhoderick Armamento, and Philippine National Police Regional Office IV-A regional director Police Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas.
 
During her remarks, Governor Tan emphasized the importance of sustaining peace and security as a foundation for the province’s continued development.
 
Tan also acknowledged the contributions of the military, police, and local government units in safeguarding the community and creating a conducive environment for progress.
 
Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Capulong thanked the Quezon provincial government, local government units, the security sector, other government agencies, and the communities for their unwavering support and cooperation in achieving and maintaining peace in the province.
 
He also reiterated 2ID's commitment to continuing its support to the provincial government and the local communities to address security challenges and enhance the quality of life for the residents of Quezon.
