2ID MSAB meeting highlights efforts to protect youth from NPA recruitment

CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - The Multi-Sector Advisory Board (MSAB) of the Army's 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division (2ID) started to take steps in its efforts to protect young people from NPA recruitment during its meeting here, Friday, June 14.

Jointly led by 2ID commander Maj. Gen. Roberto Capulong and 2ID MSAB chairperson Ms. Agustiniana Avelino, the agenda included a review of the 2ID Scorecard and plans to start a foundation that would empower young people to be resilient against the recruitment of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG).

In his message, Maj. Gen. Capulong underscored the urgent need for community engagement and education on the deceptive tactics used by the NPA to safeguard the youth and communities against their recruitment efforts.

He also reaffirmed 2ID's commitment to safeguarding the future of young people and ensuring they have opportunities for growth and development that are free from the influence of extremist groups.
