3 NPA members surrender, yield firearms in Rizal
CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal – Three NPA members surrendered to the joint forces of the Philippine Army and Philippine National Police, and yielded a firearm in Rizal, on Thursday, May 11, 2023.
Troops from the 80th Infantry “Steadfast “Battalion and Rizal PNP facilitated the voluntary surrender of alias Renyo, vice Sqsuad leader of Platoon 2 Yunit Gawaing Masa (YGM); alias Jaz, Giyang Pampulitika (GP) of Platoon 2 YGM; and alias Jomar, the vice squad leader of squad 1, Platoon 1, Sentro De Grabidad (SDG), last April 28, 2023. The three NPA personalities are from KLG Narciso of the Southern Tagalog, Regional Party Committee’s Sub-Regional Military Area 4A.
During debriefing with the three NPA personalities, alias Jomar voluntarily surrendered one M16 Bushmaster assault rifle to the troops.
“More and more of our kababayans are now heeding the call for genuine peace and development, and this further weakens the Communist Terrorist organization. We are urging those who are still in arms to follow the likes of alias Renyo, alias Jaz, and alias Jomar, to abandon the armed struggle and avail the government grants and benefits put in place to help them begin their lives anew with their families.”, 2nd Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division Commander Maj. General Roberto S. Capulong said in a statement.
