A report reaching this headquarters disclosed that the troops of the 4th Infantry Battalion (4IB) were conducting security operations in the area when a local reported the buried war materials.
The cache contains an M16 rifle, an M14 rifle, an upper receiver of a Garrand rifle, a shotgun, three magazines for an M16 rifle with 136 rounds of ammunition, three magazines for an M14 rifle with 44 rounds of ammunition, and two blasting caps.
It can be recalled that last October 13, the troops of 80IB also discovered an arms cache in So. Madaki, Barangay Umiray, in the town of General Nakar in Quezon.
Two M16 rifles, an M4 carbine, an M203 Grenade Launcher, two improvised shotguns, an improvised M14 rifle, two bandoliers; three long magazines for M16, six short magazines for M16, and numerous rounds of ammunition were unearthed.
The discovery of the arms caches thwarted the possible plans of the communist terrorist group to harass and terrorize innocent communities in the area.
The recovered war materials are currently in the custody of the above-mentioned units for proper disposition.
